My plans to have it done for last Christmas didn't come off, but I finished the top early this year. A couple of months ago, I made the back and then had the quilt thread basted by Sue Burnett - it's so much easier to handle a big quilt like this without the weight of all those pins in it!
After quilting my Christmas Leftovers quilt (made from the leftovers from making this quilt, and, ironically, finished over a year before...), I knew I wanted to free motion loops on this quilt as well.
This weekend I made a start and I love the way the quilting is looking so far. Hopefully I'll have a finish to share with you soon!
Are you working on any Christmas makes at the moment?

Love your Trip along quilt - the quilting is looking fab so far too!
The loops are great! I can get my mind around them being like a string of Christmas lights, too, which is a fun visual. :)
This is looking beautiful - love your quilting too.
I love it! This is one of my all time favorite Christmas fabric collections. Love your loops too.
Hi! This is really beautiful! Great colours and the quilting is perfect! x teje
Great quilt
Love your holiday quilt! I bet it will feel good to finish this one up!
That is just beautiful!! Great job :)
I adore "trip" quilts - and hope to make one myself one day! Yours is GORGEOUS, I love the colours you chose and the way you put them together....and the quilting works just perfectly! You've inspired me...I may have to go home early today to pull fabrics for a "trip" quilt!
It looks great! The loops are fun :) And it looks like you could get it done by Christmas this year!
that quilting is fabulous - it must have taken forever and involved a ton of tying off, but it's looking great!
merry christmas, to you. =)
Oh this is such a happy quilt - I am particularly in love the loop quilting!
I absolutely adore your quilt! The colors are fantastic. Love!
Can you refresh my memory - did you use one jelly roll or two? I have been cutting various strips for a future "trip" but I keep pulling out the strips for something else. Maybe a jelly roll is the way to go for me.
Great finish!
