First zippy pouch

I made this open wide pouch using this tutorial from noodlehead (this is the medium size).

The exterior fabric is Vintage Threads by kokka, and the lining is Sinister Swarm in Leaf from Anna Maria Horner's Field Study collection.

I interfaced both the exterior and the lining with a fusible interfacing, so this pouch has plenty of body and stands up on its own. It took me about an hour to make this, which is pretty good given that I haven't worked with zips since I was a teenager. I put it down to the really clear tutorial, and am very happy with the result. This is definitely a "make again" item for me.

What have you been sewing this weekend? Anything different?

Linking up with Plum and June and Sew Modern Monday.

Your pouch looks great! I think zips in pouches are far easier than in dresses! Today I sewed some pieces together for a quilt backing- something I usually avoid!

Looks great Adrianne. That pouch is one I have been meaning to try. I've been sewing party decorations this weekend. Found you through P&J link up.

I love it! Had my brother over for thanksgiving and he made the same pouch...except he inserted the zipper wrong and now it's an inside out pouch, haha. Good job!

That is so cute! Great fabrics. That is one of my favorite tutorials too.

I made a pouch following the same tutorial yesterday but my zipper was the same length as the width of the pouch, so I couldn't do the hangy out bit. I can't really work out how it doesn't get caught up with the side seams... do I just need to do it and it all falls into place?
