2014 Pantone Quilt Challenge - Winners!

orchidbutton1

First of all, I want to say that Anne @ Play Crafts and I are both blown away at all the beautiful entries that were submitted to the challenge. We tried to visit each and every one of you – Anne has done an amazing job but I know I haven't got to everyone yet.  If I haven't commented on your entry yet,  I will soon!

A quick note about judging. The judging process is truly a subjective one. Everyone has different tastes and favorites. Even if you didn’t win, that doesn’t mean your work is somehow lesser than the winners. It just means that something in a particular quilt spoke to that particular judge. If we all liked the same things, we’d all make the same quilts, and that’d be incredibly dull. So please keep that in mind if you didn’t win! We think you’re awesome for entering!

So without further ado, here are our winners!

Thanks for sharing all these gorgeous works of art.

My purple fabric stash is the largest of all my colors so Pantone's choice for the year made me a happy happy sewist. I have yards of purple and have been using it for years in everything I make. My recipients are well accustomed to the various hues, shades and tints of purple which find their way into my stuff and no one has complained yet. My current two pieces are mostly purple again...

Some absolutely fabulous creations. Congratulations to all the winners. I certainly don't envy the judges having to make those decisions.

All the quilts are winners! It's so interesting what can be done based off one color. Can't wait to see (and hopefully enter) what next year's color inspires.
