So I'm having a bit of an obsession right now with drunkard's path blocks. The big ones are so easy, especially if you cut them with a die cutting machine, and they look so effective. It's a pretty satisfying combination.
I cut a bundle of Amy Butler's Glow collection into drunkard's path pieces a few weeks ago, and since then I've been itching to start sewing them up. A couple of weekends ago I was unable to resist the temptation and started making blocks.
I wanted to keep this quilt simple (since the fabric is super busy) and just use two fabrics for each block. I love how it's coming out so far.
I ended up making nine out of the total twenty blocks I'll need for this quilt, which was pretty good going for about three hours sewing time. My favourite at the moment is the block with the very dark outside and the pink in the middle - such great movement in the prints.
I have a fun idea about how I want to quilt this quilt - now to make the rest of the blocks and see whether I can pull off the quilting I'm considering.
I'll be linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced:

Happy sewing!
These are beautiful Adrianne! Don't all those fabrics play so nicely together! And I am very keen to know you cunning quilting plan....
I so enjoy your blog, you are so creative and I can't wait to see your 30's quilt finished! Oh and the caturday series, well they are just so darn cute that Ralph and Ivy! I live outside of Austin on a ranch, I was disappointed I didn't see u at Quilt Con! Keep up the good work!!
it's going to be a very pretty quilt! I love drunkard path blocks but I haven't tried sewing any yet! I have the Sizzix die on my wishlist but haven't invested yet. I can't believe you made 9 blocks in 3 hours, I'd be hard pushed to make 9 4-patch blocks in 3 hours!
Looking forward to see it quilted. I also love the pattern, maybe should give a try as well. Good luck with sewing the remaining blocks!
I also am in a DP mode because I so love Angela Pingel's book. My daughter has earmarked several! What size are your blocks? We are big fans of Amy Butler too and your blocks are awesome!
Fabulous fabrics! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with to quilt this.
what size blocks are you cutting? I want to get a die cutting machine and templates but I'm so unsure about sizes!
