I am having a slightly quiet sewing week - a lingering cold is leaving me without a lot of energy by the end of the working day. However, I have finished up a couple of blocks recently.
This first one is the May block for Simply Solids. Kathy is making a scrap vomit quilt in all solids - I think it will be wonderful!

The second block is a block of the month for Capital Quilters - it's called Mod Plaid, and while it doesn't look that exciting on its own, a whole lot together look really effective!
Finally, with the start of May, it's time for a wrap up of April's projects. The links below will take you to the relevant blog post.
1. Corners Block for Simply Solids Bee, 2. Modern She Made cushion, 3. Quilts for neonatal unit, 4. Fabric experimentation, 5. Modern She Made pincushion, 6. Bold and bright pouch, 7. Oakshott and low volume quilt top complete, 8. Low Volume Oakshott Plus Block, 9. Improv cushion for Gran

Hope you had a good April, and your May is starting out well!
Wow! Those solids pack a punch, don't they!(Where are my sunglasses? LOL!) The red and purple pincushion is great- not sure how I missed that!?
ReplyDeleteThe solids look fantastic, as does your + quilt. You have been busy :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the thumb nail for the solid quilt block at Freshly Pieced I thought that it was an illustration of a quilt you were planning to make. I love that the fabrics are really that bright. I'm sure it will make a really fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteI adore your Modern She Made Cushion. And you seem to like swaps? I currently have started one on my blog, so maybe you wanna come by and check it out :)

Those solids are very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a good month. Hope you beat that cold once and for all soon. x
ReplyDeleteI love the collage of all your projects :) Can I ask how you make those? Is it a blogger thing?
ReplyDeleteI love your solid block of squares too. :) Such and impression it makes.
LOVE your colors, fun collage!
ReplyDelete"scrap vomit" never heard that before
ReplyDeleteYou've been majorly productive. As always - I enjoy reading your blog (but have been a poor commenter). PS: I may have very unconsiously copied your little pincushion idea for my Modern She Made extra...
ReplyDeleteThe solid scrap vomit is going to be super cool. I can't wait to see it done!
ReplyDeleteReally effective scrap vomit - it's going to be striking. When I saw the link for Capital Quilters I thought it was for ME because I'm CapitolaQuilter LOL - I like the block you made even if it's not headed my way.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have seen an all-solids scrap vomit, it looks great. And that black chicopee print is one of my favorites, I have been hoarding mine a little bit :)
ReplyDeleteThat riot of color is amazing! I totally want to make a giant toss cushion version of your pincushion :)
ReplyDeleteoooh, love the Simply Solid block...great colors :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really want to make something for myself using these colours now.
DeleteLove the solids block!
ReplyDeletethe two quilts for the neonatal unit are so sweet - I just clicked through to read more about them :)
ReplyDeleteLove that solids block, such a punch of colour!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all of those gorgeous finishes!
